Support: Sam Towned (warm-up and closing sets)
This is one of those Pure events that has taken a while to get confirmed... a long while. We started talking to BK about this in 2014. So the fact we now have a date, a venue and BK all aligned, we are finally delighted to announce welovehardhouse.com proudly presents Pure BK.
As with all the Pure events we run, we don't ever tell the DJs what they should play. Our only request is that there is a decent amount of progression. As a producer Ben has probably one of the biggest hard-dance catalogues of any DJ on the scene so we would hope that some of his best known tracks are included in his six hours.
Ben's range when it comes to music (producing and DJing) covers trance at one end to hard-house at the other with pretty much every sub-genre within that covered one way or another. His talent shone through at a young age and as far back as the early 90's BK's "sound" his credited as one of the building blocks of the hard-house boom. Six times winner (in a row) of "Best Producer" in the Hard Dance Awards, Ben's contribution to countless tracks has seen his name credited on some of the worlds biggest label releases.
Regular festival appearances at the likes of Dance Valley (Holland), Creamfields Global Gathering, Gatecrasher Summer Sound System , Impulse NL, Godskitchen, as well as Ibiza dates, BK is as popular now as he has ever been. Perhaps taking all that in we can excuse him a little for taking so long to confirm a Pure date.
Supporting BK for both a warm-up and then closing set is the immensely talented and hard-working Sam Townend. Sam has played for is several times (most recently last year) and his amazing with not only his support for our events, but never fails to deliver perfect set, regardless of set time. Sam and BK work on a number of projects together so it was no surprise that BK suggested Sam. If you have never seen Sam play a warm-up set, I'd recommend you come along early.... particularly if you don't like warm-up. Sam has surprised many.
For this event we will be at XOYO, our new London home. XOYO is an amazing venue, built out of a former printing factory for a true under-ground feeling. We've been to the venue several times and are really impressed by the whole experience. The security are firm but very friendly, (rare you get a venue that you can include the word friendly when describing their security. say friendly security about), the bar-staff uber efficient even when the place is packed, a sound system that leaves other venues far behind and overall the venue clearly has music at its heart, that night sound strange but actually there are not that many venues that are DJ focused.
Our own Dave Curtis loves XOYO and has written us a review, see the XOYO page HERE
