Sooooo....where to begin!
Just got home after what I can safely say is one of the best crowds I've played to in 28 years!
Both Ru and I had a pretty stressful couple of weeks leading up to event with one thing and another not quite going to plan, even right up until I put the first tune on, but I finally relaxed when I hit start on the deck!
This event is so special to me, to be able to take everyone on a journey through the music that has shaped not just me but all of us at one point or another to who we are today, and for me to share this with you is such a privilege. As a dj, to get reactions like that from the dancefloor, looking at sea of happy faces, only drives me to deliver more, and yesterday I couldn't have asked for any more. You lot were off the scale!!! I can't believe how quickly the day flew by, the atmosphere just carried me along. I ache in parts I didn't think I could ache today but it's worth every creaking limb!
First and foremost I'd like to say as massive thank you to Ru who puts so much into these events, and has given me the opportunity to do this for the past nine years (can't believe it's been that long!). Huge thanks to Sarah & Quinn who babysat the vinyl for me on Friday night. Thanks for the additional two vinyl which I discovered halfway into the set. Expect Mrs Mills & The Black & White Minstrels in my upcoming sets (most of you won't even know who they are!).....Craig, Sarah, Michael, Julie & Quinn for helping me lug four bags of vinyl and a deck across to the club on Saturday morning. Stevie B for saving the day afterwards by giving us a lift back to the hotel with the same baggage, I don't know what we would have done with you! Dave for carrying on the party upstairs in fine style. To everyone that kept me going with Haribo, drinks and even an ice lolly! And last but not least to you all who came to party, thank you so much, this is why I love what I do, and why we love the music we do. And a special mention to Tache David, so good to see you out again.
Time to put my feet up, snore on the sofa and smile at the memories.
Much love to you all,
Andy xx
P.S. 10th Anniversary anyone?
And the winner is...?
Now in its third year, the Produce A Track With Andy Farley competition is now firmly established as part of the annual Pure Andy Farley event. Each year the popularity of the competition grows as does the global reach, we had submissions from across the globe and as with previous years, the judges (Andy Farley and Ben Stevens) have been blown away by the standard of entries, many of which are clearly the result of a huge amount of thought, and each worthy of full consideration.
Andy and Ben receive each entry, minus the details of the person who submitted it. Individually they go through every entry and then through a series of review sessions they discuss each one. Despite allowing more time this year, the sheer volume and the quality has meant the process has taken much longer than we envisaged. But we prefer that than rushing to make a decision.
As with previous winning entries, this years winning submission displayed a respect for hard-house history whilst a desire to create a modern sounding track.
And the winner is.... SIMON HILL!
When we called Simon to give him the good news he was, to be fair, rather shocked. One, partly because he'd put the competition to the back of his mind, but also to receive a call that he had won a competition that would see him go into a studio with Andy and Ben was "a real honour"
Simon went on to say "I have massive admiration for them [Andy and Ben] as both Djs and producers. Andy has been a huge influence on me musically over many years ever since first hearing him play as resident Dj at Sundissential at the legendary Pulse nightclub in Birmingham.
I have been listening to house and techno since the late 80s and djing for well over 20 years including having played at some quality club nights back in the 90s including Cheeky Monkey and The Country Club. More recently I am now resident Dj at a night in Bristol called Deluded which is run by two friends of mine Simon Coles and Simon Myles-Watkins. The focus is very much on quality house, hard house and trance music from the 90s in a friendly and intimate club environment.
I am very much old skool and continue to Dj with vinyl so the chance to have a record pressed is like a dream come true. I have never done any production work in the past which I do regret so this is a fantastic opportunity and will allow me to express myself and my musical influences over the past 25+ years. I am sure we will come away with an absolute barnstormer!"
Simon will join Andy and Ben at Fireball Studios in Manchester over the next few weeks and the track will then be mastered before being sent to our friends at Cut2Vinyl in Hungry, where a hand made process will see the tune cut onto high-grade vinyl. The 12" will be produced and in the UK in time for Pure Andy Farley where the track will be played. Simon will receive the vinyl at the end of the Pure event on Saturday 10th November, at XOYO. The track will also receive a commercial release during 2019.
Congratulations to Simon. And thank you to everyone who took part in the competition. As Andy and Ben will testify, each entry was worthy of full consideration and we are extremely grateful for the amount of thought and effort behind each entry.

Thanks for amazing feedback. Most feedback from the event can be found on the Facebook EVENTS PAGE or Andy's own FACEBOOK PAGE.
Here are just some comments:
"What a weekend!! Our Pure cherry has been well and truly popped...we loved every second of the event, the music was incredible, the atmosphere was electric, there was so much love in that club! None of us know how Andy has the stamina to mix vinyl for 10 hours with such incredible skill but we are all super grateful that he can! (You are a legend Mr F, of that there is no doubt 💖).
Absolutely no question that we will be there next year...Big thanks and loves to Ru, Jamie and Oier, the magic of hardhouse.com is a beautiful thing bringing so many super specials together in one place really was the icing on the Hard house cake!
Last but not least...a massive thank you to Frank and Alex for hosting us and driving us to the event (leaving London was a true test of Alex's second gear driving skills and patience!😉💖)"

"We are beginning to recover at last! What an amazing event. it doesn't need to be said but I'm saying it anyway - Andy Farley you are THE MAESTRO!! There are not enough superlatives in the dictionary to describe what you do. Then when we thought we'd reached the peak along came Dave Curtis with a wonderful fresh set that kept us bouncing till the end - how on earth did you manage that Dave?! Thank you yet again welovehardhouse and all who sail in her. Thank you to a great venue, XOYO. Plus of course, we have some very silly friends in our HH family and we love you. Sylvia and Brett XXXX"

There are not many people in this World that can put a 10 hour journey together to such perfection and not drop a single beat all day like Andy did on Saturday. And as always with his Pure nights , showcases what energy he radiates to his followers. As attitude , passion and just general nice people with nice vibes are flooding to this event year in and year out now on this special day.
I am everywhere In clubland, last year Pure Farley was my favourite event of the year..and with only around 6 weeks left of 2017 left it’s leading the race for best event of this year too.
If I have one gripe , that would be, that this event is too good to only happen once a year...I’m pretty confident with a big 6 month Gap space we could get two of these in a year and Everyone would come to both, each time. Well done Andy Farley and Ru and Jamie and all else involved. Attention to detail and work that goes into this is always 100% 😍🍍🦄🎼🔊

"Daytime dancing is always fun. When it's Pure Andy Farley you know you are in for a treat. A cracking 10 hour vinyl set from the godfather of hard house. Banging, melodic, euphoric but never obvious."

Well good morning (afternoon)!
What an amazing day yesterday. I'm so touched by all the comments, thank you. You lot were AMAZING!! As a DJ to get crowd reaction like that is just the best as it fuels you! Music has been at the heart of my life since I was very young. To quote Loulou's post (hope you don't mind!) 'got quite emotional during the set...certain tunes brought tears to my eyes'. This is what it is about, music should take you somewhere and stir emotions, memories, people and places! I always get quite emotional the day after doing these long sets, euphoria, tiredness, reading the feedback and the thought of having to wait a year until doing it again ha!
To have the opportunity to do this annual event means so much to me, thank you Ru. The hard work and dedication you put into this and all the welovehardhouse events shines. Oier & Jamie on door duties thank you. Love XOYO! I'm always nervous when there is a change in venue, however I had nothing to worry about, the staff were so helpful and professional and the dj box was a dream to work in. I even got a request for He Never Lost His Hardcore from the guy on the lights (sorry will bring it with me next time!) Thank you so much all of you for supporting this event, it just blows me away how each year just gets better. Having a lazy day today, my feet hurt from dancing so much (I think on foot has gone up a size, either that or my converse shrank) and my back is really stiff, so sofa and a curry later is definitely in order.
Lastly to Craig & Sarah thank you for keeping me going for the drive home!
Much love to you all
Andy xx

My Experience..
I was the lucky person to win the 'produce a track' competition this year;so i had a very special reason to be at PURE this year.
The track was produced a couple of months back with Andy and Ben Stevens..then it was pressed to vinyl in time for the event.
Its a moment in time for me that cant be topped.
Ive seen Andy play in some of the biggest & smallest clubnights over the last 20 years,so to hear a track that we made was a surreal experience. It will never be topped for me.
Andy's the best-because he delivers every time,a true professional-we got to the the club around 4pm after traveling from manchester and surprisingly within 15 mins of saying hello-he had the track playing. So ma
I would urge anyone who is a 'farley' fan to enter the contest next year whether you have studio experience or not .It exceeded my expectations and left me with something that ill be very grateful for.
Massive thanks to all involved for making it happen-ill never forget it and always remember it.
Thank you.

Total gobsmacking euphoria. Andy, you are fabulously unbelievable and we love you. Dave, you are of course the man to finish off a great evening perfectly. Then the totality of the amazing lights, wonderful venue, superb staff and the utterly gorgeous Ru and Jamie. Don't think we have ever seen such a huge percentage of clubbers dancing throughout (not standing around chatting!). Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Sylvia xx and Brett x

Well good morning to everyone!
Tired today, but a good fry up has just sorted me out, followed by a day vegging on the sofa. I can't thank you all enough for being such an amazing group of clubbers no make that friends. You guys absolutely rocked from start to finish.
This was the 9th Pure and each one just gets better and better. For me just being able to take you on a journey through the music that I love and all the memories that it brings back and the new ones that it creates is so amazing, and of course doing it on vinyl which will always be my passion, those black shiny things have a lot to answer for.
First off with the thank you's...Ru & Jamie, what can I say, you never cease to amaze me each time with your creative ideas that make this event so special. I don't know if you realise how much time and effort these two put into this event to make sure you have the best time, but it really shows. Thank you so much. Sam & John for the outstanding lighting yet again, thank you. To Ariela, thank you again for the constant flow of gelato to keep me going! The peanutella one was amaaaaazzzzziiiiinnnnnggg!!! To my partner in crime Sarah and of course my Craig for the Friday tapas fun (I think they might have cooked the paella by now) and Saturday's fun! And most of all to you, my friends who made this day so fantastic. Only thing is now I've got a wait a year until the next one, though I heard a rumour about something happening in March.......
P.S. I was supposed to appear in the pilot's uniform at the end but go so engrossed in the last few tunes forgot to go and change!
Much Love
Andy xx

The marketing plan in the early Pure years (IE while Facebook was still evolving) included printed flyers and flyering outside venues.
Social media back then wasn't seen as social media. HarderFaster.net and DontStayIn.com were the platforms that could determine the success of an event, both pre and post. The challenge pre event was to keep the event listing's attendee list growing and thus the event would grow in popularity.
One popular way to drive visitors to the DSI or HarderFaster event page was by writing and publishing an interview or three with the DJs. At the time there seemed to be loads of these interviews happening and so we wanted to do something to get noticed. This Pure event was of Andy's 20 Year DJing anniversary, and given that the event featured a 6 hour set we thought we would do something around numbers. So "Andy Farley In Numbers" was born.

There is no track list for Pure Andy Farley 1. The six hour set was played predominantly from CDs and went "very quickly" Andy said afterwards. "I didn't play half of the tracks I was going to play". Mmmm. Is that a hint for a longer set next time?
Warm-up was provided by the uber talented Ross Homson
Closing set: "Dave Curtis" - the only man that can and has done so loyally at every single London Pure Andy Farley since.
